‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Promises Upcoming Finale Has the ‘Same Vibe’ as Iconic Early Episode and Fans Are ‘Not Prepared’

Grey's Anatomy has got fans fully on edge over the upcoming season finale, set to air tomorrow, Thursday, May 15.

The long-running series revealed on X earlier this week that the final episode of the 21st season "has the same vibe" as an early fan-favorite two-parter set of episodes—"It's the End of the World" and "As We Know It"—that fell toward the end of Season Two.

If you need a little memory jog, the episodes feature Christina Ricci as a paramedic who stuck her hand through a hole into a patient's chest cavity to control his bleeding, only to panic during surgery after learning that her hand was touching a live grenade. Unable to be calmed, Ricci's character withdraws her hands and runs out of the operating room, leaving Meredith Grey to take her place.

Fans were left on the edge of their seats to see if Meredith would survive, with fan-favorite guest star Kyle Chandler's bomb squad technician serving as the episode's devastating casualty when the ammo exploded as he walked it down the hospital's hallway.

With those "vibes" headed back to television this week, some fans are naturally feeling ill-prepared for the episode—while others are lacking in confidence that New Grey's can pull off Old Grey's.

"Big statement…let’s see!!!" one declared, while another hyped it up as "My favourite episode of the entire series."

"This vibe is so unreachable for the today greys i m sorry," one person wrote doubtfully, but others were thrilled with the second season's resurgence.

"WELCOME BACK GREYS ANATOMY," one replied emphatically, while another cheered, "REAL GREYS IS BACK."

Some remembered the startling loss at the end of the episode, though, and were concerned that those were the vibes referenced.

"a man died at the end of this episode btw 😟," one pointed out. "does that mean..?"

"I am not prepared. Who dies?" another demanded, while someone else pleaded, "Ok but this time no one dies, right? RIGHT?"
