CBS has a reason for not airing new episodes of the shows in the FBI franchise on March 4, 2025, even though it can be frustrating that all three shows left off on cliffhangers that will take a while to be resolved. For example, FBI's Maggie and OA are still not in a good place. Maggie was missing from the last episode of FBI, while OA was missing the week before, and the two haven't interacted since OA lost his temper with a suspect and Maggie decided to work with Scola for the rest of the case.
Meanwhile, FBI: International season 4, episode 12 featured a murderous husband and wife on the run, but the real drama came from Riley Quinn's secret mission to find dirt on Mitchell so that her superior in America could take him down. Finally, in FBI: Most Wanted, Hana had to help out ex-boyfriend Ethan when he told her he was being blackmailed, while elsewhere, the team's investigation of a double murder on campus led to a drug dealer who wanted his money back.
Why There Are No New FBI Episodes Tonight (March 4, 2025)
CBS News Is Covering The State of The Union Address
Every March, the current President of the United States makes a speech in front of Congress, detailing the progress made on the administration's goals and plans for the next year. Two months since a change in leadership, this speech has been scheduled for March 4. Naturally, CBS News is covering the speech as well as the response afterward by a member of the Democratic Party. The speech is scheduled to start at 9 PM, leaving only one hour free before coverage begins.
Thus, CBS could air a rerun of FBI at 8 PM before beginning its news coverage. However, this is not what the network has scheduled. Instead, an episode of The Price Is Right at Night will air in the 8 PM timeslot before transitioning into coverage of the address and the response by the other party. CBS likely made this decision because it doesn't like to air episodes of only one FBI show — even though the episode would be a rerun, it would break the tradition of running all three installments in the same week.
When Will New Episodes Of FBI, International, & Most Wanted Release?
The Hiatus Is Only One Week Long
While it's frustrating that there won't be any FBI shows this week, the good news is that the hiatus is only one week long. Thus, new episodes of each of the three FBI series will release on March 11, 2025. This means that there is only one extra week between episodes. That said, there may be other hiatuses over the next two months.
CBS often pre-empts programming for the March Madness basketball tournament during the second half of the month. Additionally, as the season gets closer to winding down, CBS may schedule breaks to ensure the network has enough new episodes to last until mid-May, when network TV seasons typically wrap up.
The current one-week hiatus offers an opportunity for those who missed any episodes of any of the FBI series to catch up. All three shows' entire seasons so far are available to stream on Paramount+, along with episodes from previous seasons. Thus, it is easy to watch any missed episodes or rewatch all three FBI series in order while waiting for the next new episode to release.
What To Expect From The FBI Shows When They Return
CBS Has Already Released Loglines For The Next Exciting Episodes
FBI season 7, episode 14, "Hitched," involves an organized crime case in which jurors on a high-profile Mafia trial are gunned down. As with many FBI season 7 episodes, things are not exactly as they seem — as the team digs into the case, they'll discover the jurors were not the intended targets and deal with a dangerous situation. Just as importantly, Maggie and OA will finally share screen time for the first time in a month during this story.
